The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA), the world’s largest philanthropic funder of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) research, is proud to announce the designation of Lisa Williams, MD, at UC Davis Health in Sacramento, California, as a CMTA Center of Excellence.
Dr. Williams is a board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neuromuscular Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She leads a multidisciplinary clinic that serves both children and adults with CMT, combining clinical expertise with a strong commitment to research, education, and whole-family support.
The UC Davis clinic operates within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and partners closely with Shriners Children’s Northern California. This collaboration ensures seamless care across pediatric and adult populations. Dr. Williams and her team are also actively involved in neuromuscular research, including CMT-focused clinical trials and studies to improve quality of life.
