Married to Phil Boadt for 55 years, Martha is the mother of three children, two of whom have CMT, and five adult grandchildren. Her mother had CMT, and she is one of nine children, at least four of whom have CMT. Martha graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Education and was a teacher most of her adult life. She and Phil now split their time between Las Vegas and Grand Rapids, MI, where she has been very involved in community outreach. She enjoys using her education and talents to serve in church, at the hospital and in community centers. She volunteers at the Cleveland Clinic in the Center for Brain Health, and she also volunteers at the Women's Club in her community. She has had extensive training in running a support group and looks forward to providing leadership to the CMT Las Vegas branch, helping people find answers and keeping them updated on new research findings. She plans to work closely with the CMTA to establish a Center of Excellence here and bring quality care for CMT patients to Las Vegas.
