Southwestern Virginia CMTA Branch

The Southwestern Virginia CMTA Branch is for those who have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and their loved ones. We welcome you to join this vibrant group of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings will focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. We love newcomers and hope you will join us at our next meeting!

Branch Leader Picture
Karen lives with husband Chris, son Emmett, dogs Milo & Daisy, hamster Marty, and CMT 1A in Blacksburg. She's a passionate Camp Footprint volunteer, has written articles for the CMTA newsletter and website, and generally thinks that the reason she has CMT is to help others find the gifts that come from being engaged in the CMT community. She's excited to start a branch in the New River Valley, which she hopes will become a source of information, support, and positivity for patients and their families in southwestern Virginia.
