South Louisiana CMTA Branch | Resource Directory | Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association

The South Louisiana CMTA Branch is for those who have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and their loved ones. We welcome you to join this vibrant group of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings will focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. We love newcomers and hope you will join us at our next meeting!

Meet the Branch Leaders

Danielle and Corey Dalfrey

Danielle and Corey were both born and raised in South Louisiana. They have been married for 19 years and have two sons, Talon (17) and Jagger (10). Corey retired from the United States Air Force in 2014 and is now a small business owner. Danielle is a BSN/RN and has over 23 years in the medical industry. Jagger was diagnosed with CMT1A in November 2016, after seeing multiple specialists and undergoing many procedures. Prior to 2016, neither Corey nor Danielle had ever heard of CMT. Through genetic testing, Corey was diagnosed with CMT1A after approximately 10-15 years of being misdiagnosed. Corey and Danielle decided to open a CMTA branch in South Louisiana to raise awareness, possibly prevent others from being misdiagnosed, and hopefully improve the quality of life for anyone living with CMT.
