Welcome to our Branch

What Are CMTA Branches?

CMTA Branches are volunteer-led local support and education groups for those living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and their loved ones. We invite all community members to join these vibrant groups of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. The branches also offer a meaningful outlet for connecting with others who have CMT. All are welcome to join a branch near them or to participate in a virtual branch meeting.

Brittney Grabiel

Branch Leader Picture
Brittney was diagnosed at 15 after years of being told she just had growing pains, and was clumsy. She has CMT type 1a , along with both of her children. She knew when her children were delayed in walking , and had absent reflexes that they also had CMT. Her mother has CMT, along with several siblings, and of course their kids. Due to photos , she can trace CMT back to her maternal grandfather. Brittney lives in Franklin, TN with her husband Chris of 15 years, Taylor (16) , Silas (12 ), and their two rambunctious Doodles. She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice, but has dedicated her life to her kids. Brittney loves to spend time in the sun planting flowers. She wants to bring Central Tennessee members together to combat the feeling of isolation that can often accompany people with CMT.
