Jacksonville, FL CMTA Branch

The Jacksonville, FL CMTA Branch is for those who have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and their loved ones. We welcome you to join this vibrant group of active and caring individuals in your area to share resources, ideas, CMT-related information, and personal experiences and to, ultimately, build life-long friendships and support. Meetings will focus on CMT education, awareness, research updates, fundraising initiatives, advocacy, and current events and will include guest speakers. We love newcomers and hope you will join us at our next meeting!

Branch Leader Picture
Tim grew up in Kingsland, GA. He attended Camden County High School in St. Mary’s, Georgia and graduated from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. He worked 20 years for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. Tim and his wife have been married for 32 years and live in Jacksonville, where they raised their two sons. Tim was diagnosed with CMT in 2008.

Stephanie Burkhalter

Branch Co-Leader Picture
Stephanie lives in Jacksonville with her three children and husband Shawn. She graduated from the University of North Florida with a Master of Science in Nursing and works as a family nurse practitioner. Stephanie was diagnosed with CMT in her early 20s, and her father was diagnosed a few years later. They love to travel, swim, and be as active as possible. Stephanie joined the CMTA as a branch leader to help raise CMT awareness and provide support to other members in the community.
