training and professional license, physical therapists may also be certified
      by the American Physical Therapy Board of Specialties as clinical specialists
      in one of a number of subspecialty areas or hold other degrees (Ph.D., Sc.D.,
      and Ed.D., to name a few). Sub specialty designations include NCS, PCS and
      GCS. A physical therapist with an NCS is board certified in neurologic physical
      therapy. PCS means the therapist is board certified in pediatrics. GCS denotes
      that the therapist is board certified in geriatrics. Physical therapists are licensed
      by the state where they practice. They may see patients in a variety of
      environments including inpatient, outpatient, home care, and school systems.
      These qualifications and degree titles vary with international therapists.
