Meet Donna, Antelope Valley’s CMTA branch leader! A devoted employee at Edwards Air Force Base with 28 years of experience, Donna stays just as productive outside of work by spending time with friends and family, including her two daughters and five grandchildren. She also enjoys reading, cooking and trying to find a hobby she can stick with. Five years ago, Donna learned she had CMT1A when her daughter and grandson were diagnosed. Donna is starting the Antelope Valley CMTA Branch with the hope of providing and spreading awareness, education, hope and support to not only those affected by CMT, but also to their families and friends.

Danielle Metzger is a long-time resident of Antelope Valley (28 years and counting!) who works for a local telemetry company. For Danielle, signs of CMT appeared in childhood. A clumsy kid whose knee would often “pop out” of place, at the age of 14, Danielle saw an orthopedic surgeon for her persistent knee problem. A nerve biopsy confirmed that Danielle had CMT, and later, a blood test determined type 1A. Danielle’s son and mother also have CMT. In her position as co-leader, Danielle is looking forward to meeting new people, spreading awareness, and learning more about CMT! Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband, son, friends, and family.
